Eight-Year Old Boy and Johansen IAS

Within the first two weeks there were very noticeable differences. A. was more relaxed physically and appeared happier in himself and was sleeping well and for longer.

At this stage his teacher reported that there was a slight improvement in his concentration but that he was highly distracted by slight noises like the radiator coming on or going off. And that he was easily distracted by other children in the class. He found it difficult to listen to what others had to say in the class.

By the end of 6 months and the end of Sound Therapy:

  • Teachers report no problems with concentration and different subject teachers have noticed what good concentration A. has.
  • At home we notice now that verbal instructions now generally only need to be given once and there is an immediate response. A rarely mis-hears things. Only now do we realize how often A. misheard and so misunderstood very simple things.
  • His music teacher now reports that A. is making the expected progress for his age. He can work well on his own and within groups. Prior to Johansen IAS the reports noted how A. appeared to find the subject hard and could not repeat rhythms he had just heard.
  • At home A. now delights in jokes which depend on a verbal play on words. He is also for the first time able to appreciate the fun of rhyming words and is able to make silly rhymes and tuneful songs with no help whatsoever.
  • Both in class and at home A’s thinking seems to be more logical and he is able to contribute in a logical and relevant way.
  • Even though the Sound Therapy has been finished some two months now the improvements continue.

In general, as parents, we feel that the increasingly self-confident, self-reliant and mature happy boy that we now see has a great deal to do with A. having done the Sound Therapy.
